The United Nations General Assembly declared 2012 the International Year of Sustainable Energy for All.

United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon called for a "a global clean energy revolution – a revolution that makes energy available and affordable for all”, adding that this was essential for minimizing climate risks, reducing poverty, improving global health and meeting the Millennium Development Goals, for global economic growth, peace and security, and the health of the planet.

One of the greatest advantages of the SCHTO technology is that, even when its main application is the production of valuable nanopowders, this technology at the same time proved to be the best alternative for clean energy production.

SCHTO process of boehmite production takes place with emanation of hydrogen and heat, which is sufficient not only for supplying the plant itself but it also can transfer some energy to external customers.

For doing this, the heat, which is emanated from the SCHTO process at high temperatures and pressures, can be directly transformed in a turbine for electrical energy production, making it an electrical generating power plant. 

Also during the process of supercritical hydrothermal oxidation of aluminum powder the SCHTO plant produces large ammount of cheap Hydrogen, which is considered to be one of the main future fuels - ecological clean, environmentally safe & energy effective.

Hydrogen, produced in SCHTO energotechnological complex, can be used to provide technological needs of chemical industry, petroleum industry, metallurgy, food industry, power plants (hydrogen internal combustion engines, gas turbines and jet engines, heat and gas generators), and decentralized energy supply, based on hydrogen fuel cells.
